Comments: Voelker is a pure bred Scottish Highland steer that was born on 3/21/2019 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Since the day he was born, I've spent many hundreds of hours with him both human socializing and training. At about two years old, I started to train Voelker to be a working ox. He still has a ways to go in the training, but he is doing great. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to train him as much as I should... Voelker is halter trained and knows the following commands: get up, whoa, backup, and haw. Voelker will always train with me as long as he's wearing a halter, but I have not trained Voelker with a yoke on. I occasionally walk him along a paved country road so he's used to car traffic. He loves to be brushed, and whenever I enter the corral or pasture, he's usually first one to walk over to me and "ask" me to brush him. Voelker has no issue with a complete stranger brushing him; he gladly accepts brushing from anyone. Voelker does allow me to sit on him when laying down. I think he also has the potential to be a riding steer, although I've never sat on him when he's standing up. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/mkb7f373uxshglsn2x15b/h?rlkey=ka7zk80ce6z6qin3qlk7yhtte&dl=0
