I did not know a mangel was a beet cultivated for livestock. How much to feed one? I will just have to wait to find out.

I have grown some mangels to feed sheep in the past. Found that pigs and horses like them as well. Easy to grow and one can weigh 5-6 pounds. They are pretty sweet, i wonder if they would taint the milk when fed to dairy cows?

I don't think mangels would taint the milk. The question came from the Dairy specific book. I do know that in many European countries it was common to feed mangels and fodder beets to milk cattle. I recall hearing my grandpa talk about cutting roots to feed the family milk cow.
