About what percent of the plant nutrients in feed fed to livestock is recovered in the manure?

I would think that it would be better fed ground. Less strain on digestion and more nutrients absorbed.

JerryHicks, I was wondering why most of your posts are about chickens. Are you being asked these questions or are you doing research?

Josie, these questions all come from a game, published in 1932, call The Four Hundred. It contains a series of books, each containing 400 questions about a farm related subject. I can't remember exactly when i started asking these question, something like two years ago I think. When I finished the last round of question, I asked what others would like to hear about. The vote was tied between soils, dairy, and poultry, so I alternate between those subjects. I do skip questions that are either too simple, or inappropriate. There are currently about 100 questions left on each topic.
