I hope every one survived the cold weather, today is day 2 for us to be above freezing. I heard we were 16 or 17 days straight that did not get above freezing. This not even close to breaking a record, this cold spell falls into sixth place for days blow freezing. Stay warm every one.

From the -20's to the mid forties in a few days. Sure is nice out, almost t shirt weather at 41. Delivered a load of Mulefoot hogs to the Amish butcher yesterday, just under #400 each. Lard type hog, so they get bigger. Great marbled meat, great bratwurst too!!

Starting to think about seeds already...... just 'thinking' for now.
It'll be a bit before turning on the heat mats! Hope everyone kept warm during this nasty cold.

God bless,

According to the old timers we have 2 more snows for the season. So far it has came out right on the snows for the last 3-5 years What ever date it snows on that a cat can make a track in the snow, that is how many more snows that you will have. the weather sure has changed my weather for the next 10 days don't show any snow. just highs in the 50's

Yep, cat tracking weather! Amazing how that works so well. I think we are in for a few more snows. You have to get your oats in so early that they get at least one snow, for a good harvest. That has worked well in the past.

Have to load three more hogs to butcher tomorrow. That will be six this week. Amish buddy does the work. Since they are lard type Mulefoot Hogs, we get a lot of lard. Snow white, so good. The pie crusts are great......... and the bratwurst....oh my.

God bless you all out in the Sandhills. Keep the Sandhills free of wind power generators, please God.

We're in the 40+ for the daytime and below freezing for nights. Perfect, going to start tapping trees this afternoon.

Just finished loading another thousand pounds of pork... Val has a few hoofprints on her jeans, she slipped on the ice and fell into the trailer along with her buddies.. She'll be black and blue for a bit. We've shipped about twenty this past week. If anyone wants some American Mulefoot hogs, holler. We'd have some smaller guys to make breeding pairs or trios with.

Not going to be sowing oats this week......... slippery is not even close... what is REAL slippery?

Oiling harness and feeling around for annoying spots on body contacting parts.

God bless
