I want to give Unk Joe and company, a shout out for the new style layouts in the calendars. The main picture was always great, but now with the addition of the smaller photos on the pages...Its great. A few more horses to look at for the same money! I never get tired of looking at horses at work. Thanks Joe

Thanks Ralph! Bob and Mary added those pictures on the grid pages few years after starting the calendars in 1980. When printing, paper and especially postage prices increased exponentially over the years, we decided to try to cut some costs by losing the photos instead of reducing the quality or raising prices much. But we missed the photos, and a lot of other folks have as well, so we brought them back. We hope people enjoy the extra "horse power" in the calendars!

I haven't been on the Front Porch for a while, so I missed this topic by a few days. Ralph, since I am considerably older than you are, I obviously have the prerogative of being able to brag about how long I have been getting these beautiful calendars. It started for me in 1989, while I was still living in Germany. Those additional pictures started popping up in my collection(I still have all of mine!) in 1992 with black and white pictures, the next year they were color photos and from then on they showed up in most calendars - I didn't go through all of them, though.
By the way, I think you could offer your services as a consultant on how to make the outlay of a small farm most efficient - having seen the re-runs of Joe's portrait of Riceland Meadows.
I got my RH magazine today and read it already. Great articles - like always!

Klaus,
Thanks for your confidence in me!
I don't want to even start about talking about our ages...I just know time slips by very quick!
I do enjoy the calendars. Joe and company puts a lot of hard work into producing them I am sure.
I too got my recent issue. I am reading slow, because our weather is very cold, so I have a good excuse to be indoors!
