We are 28 percent of the way to our goal of $2000 to improve the genetics of the dairy cattle owned by poor rural Haitian farmers in the village of Ducrabon and surrounding area, providing them with better nutrition for their families, surplus milk to sell or trade, and better conversion of forage to milk and meat.

The cattle Jean Louis hopes to cross with existing herds have smaller frames and do better on hardscrabble conditions like the arid deforested land of rural Haiti. Thanks to everyone who has donated already. The rest of you, please consider making a donation, however small.

It is a worthy cause and I look forward to showing photos and video of the grateful farmers with their new breeding stock next year.
