I have heard of people eating them, or just shoot them.

I know that this post has some age, but I have to comment. I laughed at the comments to this post and my dad herd the comments and has some of his own. Here goes, since an F250 going 70 works for armadillos. If you have an F350 how far can you reduce the speed and achieve the same result? HaHa!!
Some of you truck people will probably get this. If nun of you do get the joke don't feel to bad.

On with the next post.

From the shooting idea mentioned by K.C.. I read an article about these animals being bulletproof. If I remember correctly their armor will deflect low caliber rounds. So, yes, they're bulletproof. Of course if you shoot them in the head with a .45 at close range you'll kill them.

What is so obnoxious about armadillos that they would have to be killed?

I know that armadillos dig burrows(like prairie dogs). This is 1 possible reason. Possibility 2 armadillos are the only mammals (aside from humans) that can contract leprosy. These are the only 2 reasons that I could think of.
