Is it just a coincidence that in the youtube videos of Belgians in Belgium the horses are so much stockier than the American Brabants I see? I was under the impression the Brabant was the same thing. Am I wrong or just happen to be looking at exceptionally stocky horses in the Belgian videos? Thanks

Steve, there is a lot of information in different books about the two different breeds available. Maybe you should contact the American Brabant Associatio ,too, whose president I think is Jason Julian. They can tell you more how the breeds diverged. There is also a great book by the late Maurice Telleen " A Century of Belgian Horses in America".
