Has anyone ever fed sudan grass to horses after it has been cured in baleage. I know it is deadly if grazed but, after curing is it safe for them.

I occasionally feed fresh cut Johnson grass to my horses - they love it- without any negative consequences. I believe it's the same as Sudan grass, but I have never fed it as hay- takes too long to cure.

While Johnson grass is also a sorghum ( sorghum halepense) it appears NOT to be the same as Sudan grass as I stated first. I looked up Sudan grass and found that it is a sorghum hybrid. I wouldn't feed it as hay .

Interesting question, I've never heard of anyone feeding any kind of haylage to horses. Has anyone ever heard of/done this? It would be about the same as feeding silage.

I know nothing about Sudan grass, but I can tell you that horses fed "bale age" or "haulage" or silage without being vaccinated against botulism run a serious risk of dying of botulism.

Here is a good piece of documentation on that.
