Hello, Is converting over to a plate less system on a JD 999 worth the money and labor? If so where would a guy go to purchase such a thing? Located in Ohio.

there is an amishman in ohio that does this . I have his name somewhere. I moved so it is hard to find things. ask around. it is easier to get a good stand of corn because nowadays the seedcorn is not graded like it use to be and the plateless will plant it for a good stand with different size grains

If you could find it, that would be great.

An Amish man named Ben King switched my maximerge JD planter over to plateless last year. I had the best population In years. I will now go back to planting open pollenated seed. I was a bit expensive, but over time will be well worth the price.
Trying to match plates to the OP seed was doable, but my "in the row" spacing was terrible. Ben lives in a town called Raggersberg I think. Sorry, I will look and see if I can find his contact information. He and his family also grow produce.

C A Farms, if you are able to contact Mr. King and he can do what you want, please post the status.
Ronnie Tucker, If you come up with the guy in Ohio, please post his name too. We can never have too much of this type of information. Thank you

I received some information from the lead that Ralph posted. He said that he hasn't started doing that yet. However he does convert JD 7000 units onto frames( he would need the planter at his shop) He provided a name of a man that does this(plate less conversion) in Ohio, his name is Joe Yoder and his number is (330)-695-2306
