Spent the day at Tim Christopher’s place shooting him, Frank Burkdoll, Lonnie Buettcher, Bob Erickson, Jason Holicky and Klaus DeBoer logging with 12 mules and 2 donkeys. (2 hitches of 6 mules and one team of donkeys).

That must have been a most interesting and enjoyable day. But where? I have seen the name Tim Christopher before , yet can't place him geographically.
Can't wait to see the resulting show and find out what's the benefit of hitching so many mules if a couple of really heavy horses could have done the same job. At least these pictures do not indicate any climate reasons.

They were in the Tim Christopher’s woods outside Decorah, Iowa, in the northeastern part of the state.
They use mules because that’s what they have, and they drove six because they hooked to some pretty big logs.
Here’s a link to a clip of them heading to the landing.

Thank you, Joe. Now I remember, Tim Christopher is also in your father's lovely book 'Draft Horses Today' on pp 46&76. I think I remember that there was at least one picture in one of the Mule Calendars. I bought a number of those over the years for some of my friends who had or have mules. Nice Xmas gifts by the way those calendars (draft horse ones especially!) and it will soon be the time o make the call!
