my cows just about quit coming for the hay this morning. I don't think there is enough green grass to feed them yet. we have only had 1" and 1/4"rain since 1-1-17. North about 6 miles & south about 4 miles they have had 4"-6". the only time the horses eat hay is on colder days.

My horses only eat a little bit of hay any more, they get most of their feed from the pastures now. I feed oats and hay twice a day, but they usually do not even finish all the hay anymore. The goats are finding their feed all over the farm. I had to put up cattle panels to fence them away from the vegetables fields last year after they overcame the mesh wire fence one evening and destroyed all my leeks !
