Does a 24% commercial feed contain too much protein to make a satisfactory supplement to alfalfa hay?

I would say yes, cause a cow can starve to death on a straight alfalfa diet.

I did not know a cow could starve to death on just alfalfa? My dad would not feed any alfalfa to his horses, I don't know why If you did you got told about it very abruptly.
