Anyone have a pioneer type wagon that is set up for a single draft? I want to convert my team wagon to a single with shafts, I need some advise and photos to show my non-driving, mechanical husband what I want and ideas how to get the draft right and make it happen. Thanks
My wagon isn't a pioneer brand but I think it is pretty much set up the same.

I will get you some pictures. I have a wagon and sled that I can do exactly what you want. I will say that if you look in Pioneer's catalog, the shafts they sell will show your husband what he needs for a connection.
We are currently in a small blizzard, so no pictures today.

It may help if you could post a picture of your running gear, the front part at couple different angles.

Bertie,
I have tried to take pictures, but I just can't get the angle very good. So, I will try to explain what I did. I took a Pioneer set of shafts and welded a bracket that attaches to my wagon tongue. I used the same kind of bracket for my team tongue. A bolt is all that is needed to change from team to single. I have attached a picture of what I hope your husband can see and understand. Good luck.

Ralph, is that the one ton or the three ton running (pioneer) gear that you have pictured?

I saw a set up just like a receiver hitch on a pickup. All his poll's and the single horse set of shaves were the same. just slide them in and put one bolt in and you were ready to go.

I have all my equipment set up with a 2" trailer receiver. I have 2 poles and a set of shafts with square tubing to slide into what ever I am using. For the shafts, I cut the channel off where it would be bolter to the fore cart and welded the square tubing on. I can change my fore cart from single, team, 3-up, in a minute or so, one for the pole/shafts.

And here is the set-up for the team. You may have figured out I have a long pole with 2 holes in it, one full length for the 3 horse evener and the shorter for team.

Bertie, you have been given some very good information and several different choices. Hopefully, your hubby can understand what us farmer/fabricators are trying to share.
My wagon pictured is a home-made affair, but I use a modified Pioneer set of shafts fit it to a single horse. The tongue has the same arrangement when using a team.

Thanks for all your help guys. Hoping to get my husband on it. Billy I love the skis on the forecart. If we had snow in FL, hubby would have another project ahead of him.
