I spent Tuesday with Gerald and Josh Schmidt, Jim and Dave Bundie, and the Blue Healer, Gunner, while they felled a large white pine with a rare vintage two-man chain saw, bucked it to 8.5-foot lengths, loaded it on a sled and hauled it out of the woods to the landing, navigating a hill that proved to be no problem for Gerald's powerful and well-trained Belgian horses. Watch for the full episode on Rural Heritage on RFD-TV in May.
