In 2004, we purchased 40 acres of vacant land and have built all the infrastructure of our homestead including our home, guesthouse, blacksmith shop, barn, greenhouse, icehouse, and storage sheds. We have been farming and gardening organically at different scales for over 15 years, and in 2010 we became certified organic and currently market to Willy St. Co-op and restaurants in Madison and Viroqua Food Co-op in Viroqua, WI. We have three young children (ages 10, 4, and 9 months) so we stress that this is a family and child-friendly environment. Unique to this opportunity is a partnership with the Driftless Folk School
www.driftlessfolkschool.org. Interns will be given the chance to act as a DFS Work/Study, and the school will offer classes (in addition to those provided by
NTH) in trade for infrastructure work at new campus location throughout the season.
