Build a Shoeing Stock: Sides

First make the sides. You will need two of these units. During initial assembly, hold pieces in place with 4 tack welds at each joint. After tacking at locations 1 & 2, use the top and bottom rail as guides for welding the male portion of the slip joint to the rear vertical post. Unit must lay flat with no twist, and corners must be square. Red lines represent fishmouth cuts.

Place the six joints (blue) between the above side panels, then tack in place. Rotate the structure to an upright position.
