by Joe Want

A shoeing stock is a great tool for working with mules and horses, especially those with issues, but is not a substitute for working with your animals on a regular basis. To make a shoeing stock of pipe, you'll need the following tools and materials:

  • "Tubemiter" software (free)
  • Cutting Torch
  • Welder
  • Angle Grinder
  • Square
  • Pipe
    • 110 ft. 3.5in (od)
    • 15 ft. 3in (od)--for "male" part of "slip joint")
  • Chain
    • 70 ft.
  • Planks or 1" plywood
    • Enough to cover floor
