Noavel headstall - Need more info
Posted by JFGillis at 2009-07-17 10:24:42
I have a team of Belgin's, one that is very easy to shoe, the other will only stand for trimming for three feet, then becomes very difficult to handel. Recently I saw a reference to the Noavel headstall in the VILLAGE SMITTY. Where can I find more info on this, and how it works? Thanks JFGillis

Mr. Gillis ; I can't tell you about the headset you're inquiring about , I've heard that they do work . However , have you wondered why he'll stand for three but not the last one , I'll bet it's a rear leg. Have you had your horse looked at by a vet to see if maybe it has a sore back/hip . The reason I'm bringing this up is that I've had the same problem with my Beligan and after ,putting him in stocks , aceing him , quiet tex, ect.he still had a problem when his left rear leg was lifted . I finally had a vet , who is also a equine chiropractor, look at him , she looked him over and said that at one time he must have fell over pointing out that his one hip was at a different angle then the other , I had him worked on several times and now I have no problems doing any of his hooves with out the stocks. Your's may be hurting and when you get to that leg he's letting you know it . Before spending money on a piece of equipment maybe see if it's something that may be wrong with him/her . Good luck
