how long do you have to be an apprentince?

In the US, there is no law that makes anyone apprentice to become a farrier. Our school is 8 weeks to 24 weeks in length. In the UK, you have to apprentice for 50 months to take the exam (DWCF Exam) that allows you to become a qualified farrier.
