Hello, I bought Farriers Formula for my quarter horse here in Switzerland. He refuses to eat it ! Probably he does not like its taste. What can I mix with Farriers in order to have him eating the Farriers?? Thank you for your answer :-)

I am sorry to hear that your horse does not like Farriers Formula. We have had a similar experience with a draft horse. In the US, we can get it in an oat base instead of alfalfa, and that usually fixes the palatability issues. Since that is not available in Switzerland, I have 4 suggestions. First, try spraying the supplement with apple juice when you serve it. If that is not enough, you might try apple sauce mixed with it. The next option is putting molasses on the supplement, and the last is to break it up and put it on the grain as a powder. If none of those work, you may have to feed it to a different horse. Good luck.

Go to Safeway or whatever supermarket is near you and buy the cheapest corn syrup they have, pour a little on and most horses will slurp it up. After they are eating it, start to cut back on the corn syrup. Eventually you can stop using it completely.
