Forgemaster gas forges
Posted by Mikael Knoshaug at 2006-02-24 18:24:05
What do you know about FORGEMASTER FORGES. The The Blacksmith Model Forgemaster Dual Burner with Dual Burner Control. I am curious about them, because all I see are nc tool forges. Are the forgemaster better?
Any opinion with an explanation?

Both the NC and Forgemaster are excellent gas forges. I own 4 Blacksmith Model Forgemasters, 1 NC Whisper Baby, 6 NC Whisper Mommas, and one NC 3-burner. All of them have their advantages. The NC holds up better in the back of a truck, and they are easier to replace the liners on. The Forgemaster has a nice design, and dual contros are a necessity, as far as I am concerned. I use both forges for competing, and they are both easy to weld in. If I had to choose only one, I would go with the NC, mainly based on the fact that I am good friends with Don Jones, the owner of NC Tool.
