Plow share repair
Posted by Jim at 2006-01-18 15:47:25
Where might I get information on plow share sharping and etc? Thanks in advance. Do you work on those or have knowledge on sharpening and resetting a share from a sulky plow?

Thanks,
JIM

Jim,
If the share is not worn beyond repointing, it could be taken to a blacksmith to have it redrawn to an edge and point. When you redraw them, they do get thinner. If done, in most cases today it will outlast the person using it.
One other thing that I might add is to have the smith reharden and temper it to a straw color along the edge.
