wavily horse auction

I have been looking at the catalog for the Waverly horse auction. I have never been to this event, but it looks to me like there are some pretty nice teams there.

What are your experiences and thoughts about this auction?

Let me add that I would investigate any team I was interested in before the event and try to see them on their farms.

I bought an excellent team there and I know several people who have bought excellent quiet teams at that auction. The key is to have someone who knows the variety of sellers and thus the quality of the sale animals so you can get a good advantage on the purchase. Without that, it can be a risk and I know a couple of people, inexperienced like me at auction, who would up with less than they bargained for when the got them home.

The Waverly Auction is the Cadillac of auctions! Fantastic event! Unfortunately, I can't get there anymore but loved going in past years. Good idea to investigate teams thoroughly BEFOREHAND if you intend to buy. Of course, it is too late to do so once the auction is on.

That's encouraging news. Sounds like a fun time in any event. If anyone is looking at the catalog and can recommend any of the sellers/teams, feel free to call me: 608-523-1340

NoraWI, assuming you're in Wisconsin, if you'd like to go sometime and I can help you, I would enjoy that.

What would a price range expect to be on a good young team of belgians at this sale. Just curious.

If you look on their site, you'll see prices that teams went for in the spring.
