Amish farm auction
Posted by Jerry Hicks at 2015-08-30 11:41:37
I went to an Amish neighbor's farm auction yesterday. He was retiring and decided to have an open auction rather than just one for the Amish community. I thought I might share some of the prices on things. A pair of bay standardbred/belgian cross horses, 18 and 19 years old, 3200.00, the harness and collars they were wearing brought 600 from the same person who bought the team. A well used pioneer forecart 700. A new idea manure spreader needing all new wood, 200.00, a new idea spreading in usable condition 500.00, A number 9, needing new guards and recommended to have a new knife, 800.00. An International 66 square baler with a wisconsin motor, 1700.00

It sounds like things sold pretty good for him. I have seen the #9 in good shape selling in the $500. range.
How close are you to Graham Lumber at Flemingsburg ? I'm going down there soon.

I'm about 15 miles south of Grahams. If you feel like making the trip on down, you'd be welcome to stop by!

Anything the Beachy brothers of Wisconsin, used to be from Iowa brought would be good.
