Next week on Rural Heritage on RFD-TV: Klaus and Lee Karbaumer raise an abundance of organically-grown vegetables on their 17-acre farm for sale to loyal customers, upscale groceries and Kansas City area restaurants, all without any motorized implements.
We watch Klaus hill potatoes, prepare a seedbed for transplanting leeks, and cultivate spinach with his Percheron team and Haflinger mare. Using close companion planting and successive seedings throughout the season on his 2-1/2 acres of market garden, Klaus and Lee harvest an amazing volume of vegetables.
They explain how they market their produce to maintain a steady cash flow throughout most of the year and educate their customers to the realities and benefits of organically-grown local food. Next week Tuesday at 3:30 pm, Wednesday at 2 am and Saturday, Aug 8, at 2 pm. Central Times.
Can't wait to see that, our Haflinger is a gelding , though, but nevertheless a great horse.
