sand fleas in paddock
Posted by joe mccarthy at 2015-07-26 09:43:13
Does anyone have any safe remedies to eliminate sand fleas in our paddock? Our mare will lie down once in awhile and will end up with flea bites in the AM.

The only sand fleas I know of live on the beach, so I assume you are speaking of some other critter? If so, diatomaceous earth would likely work great. Sprinkle all around your paddock, and that's it. You'll need to replenish every now and then, but it will kill bugs while being harmless to your mare. Just be sure you use food grade DE, not pool grade, the latter having other ingredients that make it toxic.
