Oxen headed to Oklahoma University
Posted by Anna Knapp-Peck at 2015-07-14 17:59:19
Our team of Ayrshire's has been sold to Dan Stein the animal science director at Oklahoma State University. They will be used to educate the freshmen in the animal science program, and in other school events. In the summer Dan plans to travel with them to events around the state. I will miss this pair but I am excited about their bright future and all the people they will help educate along the way. Now if I can only get Lain to forgive for selling them, but I don't think there is 'enough rain in Oklahoma' to do that!

If any of the porch folks live out that way, and see a pretty pair or red & white oxen, you'll see Briar & Thistle!

We will have to go see them in action.

Do you have any other oxen coming up behind them, Anna?

Your headline says Ok. University but then the text says Ok. State University. Keep that strait. OU and OSU are rivals. OSU is the great Ag school, so that makes great since. It is exciting that the professor is taking this on. I wish OSU would bring back draft horses. They have a beautiful old horse barn on campus that would look great with drafts stalled in it once again.

Klaus, we have a pair of two-year-old Guernseys, Nip and Purple left. I am working now so the oxen get less time and this year we had low hay production so feed is short.
