Wyoming haying

Weather cooperating at the Lupher rance. Wes cut about 4 acres with 2 I&J mowers in 2 hours today. Having a moter on the mower is the way to go-never needed to blow the team In 2 hours.

Dale , how wide is your cut and how many hp motor?
Response by Wes Lupher at 2015-07-12 23:10:46
SD Manning, the mowers are 7' and 9'. Motors are 7 horse power.
We mowed some small and hard to cut pieces on my river bottom. On bigger fields we can really cover a lot of ground. 40 acres in a day at times.

I wondered what Dale was up to. Happy that Wes is getting some hay put up this year. A friend of mine has a IHC bar mower that he has a 9 ft bar on and a 10 or 12 horse motor on it. he said the motor was bigger than needed but it was what he had he said he could mow all day with his team with that mower.

Hope that 9 foot bar doesn't hit rock- be hard on that cast iron frame. Adding a Moyer to a mower can be the best way to go for many.

Dale Wagner is roaming at large throughout the country.
We're having a good time and would be haying a bunch if the weather will cooperate. It's been hit and miss on the haying.

Dale passed through here this morning. Had lunch and he headed north on a little round about.
Finally got hay baled today that was cut on June 30th. Ain't worth much but it is off the ground. Beats eating snow balls if a critter is hungry enough.
