Use two triple trees on a bar that works as an evener for them.

The circular from the University on big teams has a lot of good information for anyone working their animals.
Maybe Uncle Joe has a library where this and other info is available for all to see??
Thanks Doug for sharing.

I don't have such a library but it is a good idea and I will try to get it done with our new website due out at the end of this month.

Joe, along time ago, I got a booklet from the Telleens. It was a reprint of Wayne Dimsmore's work. He was the head of the Horse and Mule Asso. This is where I learned about making eveners. My dad and the neighbors, who used these evebers, said they where made right.
My book burned in a house fire or I'd send it to you so you could reprint it, Maybe Telleens or you could come up with a reprint.

Thanks Dale. I will check it out.

I'll hear about an older book, no matter the subject, and look on Amazon.com and sure enough some mom & pop store has a relationship with Amazon and the book will be used but usually in very good condition and at a steal of a price. As an example I've bought The Draft Horse Primer by Maurice Telleen for less than $5. (Actually I've bought it two or three times. I loan it out and it never comes back). I bought old church hymnals on there for $2.99 each and when people saw them I had to go back and order more. Just a good resource for a book that may be out of print.

it would all depend on price and age how far I would have to go to get them. Always looking never know what you will find.

KC,
Well when you come this way, come look.

White Horse machine makes a nice 4, 5, 6, horse evener that is heavy duty and versatile. Just hook the appropriate double/triple trees where needed for your hitch and go.
Have had best luck multiple hitching new hire horses to a consistent drag implement like cultimulcher. New horses and big draft took a little to get us all settled down, we were known to get some pretty quick acres done. You don't want something like a disc on hard ground where if they move quick the disc comes out of the ground and it is easier for them and gives them bad habits....
