This area needs some rain. Grass is drying up in a lot of places.

We are getting seriously wet this weekend. Started raining Fri night, rain gauge says 1.2 in so far with about 4 inches of wet snow yet to melt.

We got some rain and some snow.. about 8 inches piled up, after it started to stick. had all the cattle at protection, the boys checked thru' the night and I went out at daylight and checked and fed, fed again this evening… gives them babies a dry place to lie down...sure good moisture... 2 maybe 3 inches total… the grass is going to pop now! Did you get freezing rain KC?

Dad always said the dry place to lay down was as important as the feed to eat. No we did not get any freezing rain, it got almost to freezing temp though. AT Gordon Ne they got about 20+ in of snow that is what I heard. Gordon Ne is 160 miles west and 60 miles west of us. our grass is about 5 IN high now sure looks good where the grass fire when north from the house fire. we are putting in some summer cows & calves next week.

Several around here are rescheduling their brandings… my wife had some minor surgery yesterday, so I was in town all day with her.. she stay'd over so I have to go back today and get her… sure nice to have two grown sons here to take up the slack… looks like we got a good chance for rain the next week or so… let it rain, if it don't rain we don't need to brand...
