Sulky Plow
Posted by Anna Knapp-Peck at 2015-05-08 15:42:57
I want to buy a sulky plow to use with the oxen. I have found a lot of sites listing them for sale, but none have prices. Does anyone have a link to a site that lists the plow with the price? Or a ball park figure of what I should pay for a used one. Thanks. Anna

There is a big range of price depending on what you want. Here in western NY a White Horse or Pioneer in good condition might bring 7 or 8 hundred. Something from the early 1900's in usable condition will probably sell for a couple of hundred unless somebody has restored it. On the cheap end I found a rusty old Syracuse beside the road for $25. After a half day of cleaning freeing rusted leavers. I put a pole on it and it plowed good.

Anna, I might know where there are a few. Anywhere from 3 to 6 hundred depending on condition. All have been plowed with in the past few years. Send me an e-mail when you have a chance and I'll start shaking the bushes.
