A Mystery solved
Posted by Anna Knapp-Peck at 2015-05-08 11:37:45
I have found out what breed Nip my blue ox is. In 2011 I took Nip to Horse Progress Days in PA and the most common question was what is he? I finally met the man who owned the bull that sired him at an auction. Nip is out of a Holstein/shorthorn cow who was bred to a shorthorn/lineback/scottish highland bull. So the the coloring is all holstien shorthorn, and the highlander explains the horns. So the mystery is solved!

The horns could also be from the Holstein.
