Mixng plow parts.

I purchased a Vulcan 13 wooden beam plow a few years ago at an auction. It still had the original paint and handles. I had no idea how good a plow I bought but it has fast become one of my favorites, except for not having a jointer. I found it didn't do so well in sod ground and kept it for plowing the garden while I spent the last two years trying to find a jointer to fit it. A month ago a neighbor asked me to come over and help him get his pioneer plow running better. While I was adjusting his hitch for him, I happened to look down at the pioneer jointer and had an epiphany! That Vulcan plow wouldn't care who made it's jointer! So, at the last Pioneer demo I ordered one of their jointers and jointer clamp. My wooden beam was a little larger than the pioneer steel beam so with a slight modification and some longer bolts I got it on the wooden beam. I used it for the first time yesterday and it worked like a charm! It seemed like it pulled easier as well as doing a better job of burying the trash. I still have a little more plowing to do so will see if I'm as pleased in the last furrow as I was in the first.
