Oil for Boards on an Old Manure Spreader
Posted by Randy at 2015-04-20 20:12:00
Hi all!

I have an old (1930's) New Idea manure spreader. It is all original and works great. I keep it greased, but it's been awhile since I've oiled the boards. What do you recommend? Linseed oil? I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks for your time and input!

I always use "used motor oil". Wait for a hot day, set it out in the sun and then "slather" it on and let it soak in. Park where you don't want weeds or put down a tarp.

Why bother? If you don't load it with a front end loader, they last longer than the metal.
