Is the following statement true or false: a calf or masticates it food more thoroughly than a mature animal?

Hmmmmm.....maybe true (instead of my original reply). I got to thinking about it, with relation to the development of the rumen, and if it isn't chewed thoroughly, and the rumen isn't developed fully, there could be issues. But, then again,it could be false becuase an adult has a fully developed rumen, they don't spend a whole lot of time chewing their food until it comes back up for cud chewing, maybe I'm overthinking it. LOL
