I was wondering if there was sufficient demand for more miniature horse drawn equipment. I have fabricated some forecarts that are similar to the white horse carts before for our minis and ponies. I have also built log scoots and other logging equipment such as a log arch and am working on a design for a mini log forwarding wagon. I was wondering if there was enough interest to justify advertizing in rural heritage and other places to make this fabrication hobby into more of a paying endevor rather than a build what I need and forget it. I am looking at building a sulky plow for this spring and a set of harrows so they can help even more in the garden. I am hoping to get a nice walking plow but want a sulky for the larger ponies 44" give or take. Also looking to convert a single horse mower over for a small team. Any input woukd be great. Joshua .

I don't know about every one else, but building stuff myself is half the fun. Also I try to "recycle" as much stuff/junk that I have laying around the farm.

My mini-sized moldboard plow needs another season of testing, but it worked well last Summer and Fall. I intend to put up a full blog post with my construction ideas once I'm happy with everything. In the mean time, I put up a short video showing the basics:
I think one of the secrets to getting work done with smaller animals is to "get off and walk," so I find mini forecarts to be kind of a dead end. Good luck with your project.

I have been trying to find a way to plow with my two mini mules, I disc with a 36 inch single gang , spread manure with a small mill creek spreader . Ihave a 4 ft by 6 ft trailer to get firewood with . Depending on prices you charge it may be profitable . Who was it that said if you think you can do it , or if you think you cannot , you are probably right . I would certainly be interested in something to help skid logs out . Currently i chain to the forecart and the bigger logs dig into the ground so we don't do well with the bigger stuff . thanks Charlie looks good .

I would love it if you built equipment for a 48" pony/ponies. Especially a mower and rake.

The front wheels need to be independently adjustable for height like an old Oliver orchard plow "Charlie t"

The land wheel and furrow wheel are set to run the bottom flat at a 4" depth. I have some ideas to add some adjustments for a future version, but with a 6 1/2" plow it might not make much difference. Plowing depth for a rig like this is not going to change that much, so you can just build in the adjustment and weld it in place.
There are a couple pics showing how it ran on my blog:
Larry what you need is a " GO DEVIL " Its just a ground slide that you put the front end of the log on to keep it from digging in to the ground. I took 2 pieces of 4x4cut at a 45 on both ends with a couple of 2xs(what ever you got will do)
