call for farm equipment manufacturers for 1st PNW farm field day
Posted by wally b at 2015-01-27 09:38:35
I have been involved with an annual draft animal farmer gathering for the past 12 years, a popular and free, farm focused event here in the pacific northwest. For the next event our committee has decided to modify and formalize the format to make the event better and have improved ability to showcase progress and possibilities for draft horse powered farming here in the Pacific Northwest. One of the activities we are going to focus on is a equipment field day to demonstrate and promote available equipment/implements, manufacturers (regional or otherwise, larger or small) who might make or have made implements/tools or modifications that may be available for education or purchase by farmers who want/need this equipment out west.
We envision the field day, at least initially, as similar to a mini horse progress days, or the DAPNet field days (although I personally have been to neither). The event will be open to the draft animal interested public. The first one is scheduled for late october 2015, an my farm, near Eugene Oregon.
The committee is posting here now to call for manufacturers who may make or already have made implements or tools they would like to have considered for demo in the field days and promotion for sale during the event. We would have an area for display of the implements throughout the entire event and have well seasoned teamsters with their animals to demo the implements during the field activity for showcase and Q & A. The person bring the implements would only need to bring the tools they want to demo.
By putting out this call for equipment now, it would give someone lead time for manufacturing or planning for the event.
If any of this interests you or you know of someone who might be interested, please get in touch with me.

I sure would like to be there and bring along about 30 walking plows for the folks out there! Probably be just a dream for me I reckon. Let me study on the idea.
