Question about a Ground driven PTO
Posted by Tom Schmitz at 2015-01-25 16:19:34
I'm converting a WD Allis Chalmers to a ground driven PTO. Do any gears need to be changed in the rear end to get it to run 540? Does anyone have any tips on how to do this. Thank you.

You need to talk to a fella named Terry Beyer I believe from Lena Illinois. He has and has used this rig he calls old Al for years. With up to at least 12 mules. If you talk to him tell the old Wildman I told you about him.

You aren't going to get a constant 540. You are going to get what you get in each gear.
