Mustard
Posted by Geoff at 2015-01-11 14:23:33
I was wondering if anyone here has planted hot mustard as a green manure crop as I hear it can work as a biofumigant and kill of some bad soil fungi. In particular, I've read it can help with verticillium wilt (I think) in potatoes. Thanks.

Geoff, I have planted mustard as a " marketable cover crop"(title of a small article I wrote in SFJ a few years ago), but I cannot tell you about the verticillium wilt effect since I never had that problem. Mustard covers the ground densely and therefore suppresses weeds.
