I have a John Deere 999 planter. What seed plate(s)would I need for Open pollinated seed?

You'll have to call these folks. They WILL fix you up.
You have to have some seed on hand to measure for the size plate you need.

You'll probably need the adapter for the modern plates too.

If is hasn't been done, make some screens out of rat cloth to size your corn. Nasco likely will have seed screens.

There are an awful lot of old seed plates around for JD planters. It's nice to have a few sets in case you decide to plant some sweet corn or popcorn.

Seed size can vary a lot. Phenotype can vary widely as well, with some blends out there. It's one of those things you have to fiddle with to get going.

We save seed and sort into small medium and large, and by selected traits. Then we have several sets of plates that we use.
