Farm Question 12/08/2014
Posted by Jerry Hicks at 2014-12-08 06:25:42
Can a plant absorb nutrients from a dry soil?
Response by Jon Bonine at 2014-12-08 09:28:12
Not really. But a plant might disagree with you about what is a dry soil. Roots are very good at extracting the last drops of water from the soil, far past what we would normally call dry soil. And dry depends on where you are, Wyoming dry is different than Illinois dry.

No.

But that being said, I have to agree with you, Jon Bonine. Our idea of dry may be very different from what a plant would call dry.
