WE ARE DOING A THRU RIDE ON THE PCT AND I NEED TO UNDERSTAND AVERAGE PACK MULE HEIGHT, WEIGHT, MAXIMUM PAYLOAD, PER DAY WATER REQUIREMENTS AND PER DAY FEED REQUIREMENTS
There is an army field manual on that.
I'll see if I can track it down.
Here is one,but you have to dig thru it.
http://usacac.army.mil/cac2/cgsc/carl/docrepository/fm10_11_1952.pdfGoogle Army Fileld Manual for pack mules for more.
This had some good info in it.
http://www.packsaddleshop.com/packingtips.htmlThe average pack mule,I'd say is about 14 hands, but they vary from 13 to 16 hands. I have packed mules from 42 "tall to 16 hads.
I think in WWII, the mules tended to be larger
FM 25-7 and FM 3-05.213 will keep you busy.
