Farm Question 10/30/2014
Posted by Jerry Hicks at 2014-10-30 05:29:27
How can danger of cattle bloating on alfalfa be reduced to a minimum?
Response by Carl Byerly at 2014-10-30 19:38:46
Don't put them on alfalfa.
Response by Jerry Hicks at 2014-10-31 07:33:58
Full feed cattle before turning them out, turn on alfalfa first time after dew has dried, then keep stock on alfalfa continuously.

Let it freeze down before turning out. Or feed mineral designed to reduce bloat. Or just never take them off of it which is what I do.
