Farm Question 10/28/2014
Posted by Jerry Hicks at 2014-10-28 05:28:36
Do animal parasites multiply faster on highland or low pasture?
Response by NoraWI at 2014-10-28 11:35:49
Probably low land because they are wetter. High land pastures dry faster.
Response by S.Oh. Bill at 2014-10-28 20:25:00
Low land offers better conditions for parasite eggs to develop. Example, Horse fly eggs only develop in wet areas.

Parasites thrive best in low moist pastures.

Now that's a surprise, Jerry! I wonder whether this is still the thought today...
