International Harvester disc
Posted by J.Stevens at 2014-10-26 15:51:50
Hello, all I have an old disc that I believe is a International harvester(it has the old IHC logo cast in the front part of the frame) or McCormic Deering it has practically no paint left on it and I would like to restore it. the traces of paint it does have left is green,is that the proper color? or just remnants of some bygone farmer's work. I will try to add a pic, also need a part for the lever that changes the angle of the discs. Thanks

IH used to be red and black.
You can braze a loop to replace the part that broke off.

How many draft horses to pull this disc?

Thanks, all the International harvester stuff I ever saw was red and black, but it was all modern equipment my dad had. I wasn't sure if the vintage equipment had the same paint scheme.
I am pulling this disc with a pair of Percherons, just working my riding arena. Which is smooth and flat. I also have the tandem set of discs that hook behind these, but I'm not gonna try the full setup until I get them in a little better condition(the team not the discs). Thanks for your input
