I'll try to phone McNair tomorrow. In case he does not have a gasket for the transmission/gear box of my McCormick-Deering #9 mower, where can I get one or what else can I use to make one? Thanks for the help. kelly

You can get gasket material at an auto parts store, trace the gear box lid on it and cut one out.

Perma-Tex Form-A-Gasket, comes in a squeeze tube. Should work fine as there is no pressure to speak of.

Silicon caulk is the best product. Parts houses have it in many size tubes. Some even work in caulking guns. This is what most mechanics use when they rebuild motors or any other thing.
