Jason Rutledge
Posted by Klaus Karbaumer at 2014-10-17 14:12:59
I just watched the interview with Jason Rutledge on Virginia Farming. Since I had trouble getting in on his post I'd like to say it here: It would be difficult to find a more eloquent or convincing advocate for draft horse farming and logging than Jason. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show, just wish we could have seen more of his impressive horses.

Klaus I have talked to Jason a few times via the internet, and read his articles several times in magazines over the last 25 years, and all I can say is he is a pretty good kind of guy, a real spokesman for our way of life.

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch it folks. Also thanks for the kind remarks. Someone once said that 75% of success is showing up and I've been at this for a while now. And as everyone that works horses knows there's lots of time for thinking about what you're doing while resting your animals. All these films are one take, no rehearsing, so I've tried to refine what I have to say into understandable phrases. Writing is much harder that speaking for me but it's pretty tough to proof read a video. For you folks that want to see more of the red horses, I have a you tube channel at:

I also do a lot of work on face book, just type in my name and you can see the other pages there too. The best thing about facebook is if someone starts giving you a hard time, you can just block them.

There are about 75 little homemade videos there, great for putting the kids to sleep, unless rock and roll music stirs em up.

It was a pleasure to see, and I have to laugh about watching it on my phone. If the originators of the Suffolk horse could see us now!

Met Jason at HPD in Pa. a couple years ago, along with some of the folks he has worked with and trained. They are all cut from the same cloth. Great people, and fun to be around. Everyone I have met around the country has had the same opinion, for the most part. We need a few more spokespeople like Jason.
