Posted by m moore at 2014-10-07 20:00:55
i know this question has come up in the past.just checking to see if anybody else has tried them or seen them used lately.does all the attachments work reasonably good?does the 10" plow go in the ground good?is it very hard to raise out of the ground?i am shore the type of soil makes a lot of difference in the working ability.

I was at a local demonstration this past spring and watched the Homesteader being used. It wasn't very impressive and we were told that it would not go into sod but should only be used on soil that had been worked before. The driver could not get it into the sod without a lot of effort and was not able to make a consistent furrow. It snaked all over and he finally quit before the end of the furrow. I will add that it looked as though the dealer had little experience with the homesteader and others may have a better experience.

We used it this spring and it worked well in our garden that was sowed in clover last fall. We've used the plow disc and harrow and they've all worked well
