Gentle Giants on RFD-TV airs tonight
Posted by Jason Rutledge at 2014-09-07 11:47:08
We will be featured on the Gentle Giants show at 5:00 pm edst this afternoon and Thursday on this RFD-TV. It is channel 231 on Dish and I bet many RH front porch folks already watch RFD-TV and the Rural Heritage Shows. We'll all see it at the same time, because we have not seen it either. It's like putting your cultural coin into a slot machine of reality and pulling the handle, it's a gamble. I hope it comes out good and folks enjoy it. Pam Minnick and Kadee Kaufman will do a good job and I'm thankful for the sharing.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Nice to see Dad and kids work together in one enterprise. Great horses, too.
I read the article in the DHJ. Jason, did you visit the Clarks who were featured in the video Harnessed to Plough ?

Got up in the middle of the night to watch program but it had been pre-emtted by the schedule for auction. So far the gentle giants program hasn't been of much value to me but was hoping this time it might be.
Wish you had posted to time a day or two earlier. Might have been able to see it as all I'm doing is putting a roof on the house.

I'm glad a few RW Porch folks got to watch it. It only ran one time, that Sunday around supper time, so lots of folks haven't seen it. My mother ain't seen it. We've been in a few media over the years and this may be the best piece yet. It will run again on December 14 on RFD-TV but I don't know the exact time. Maybe it'll make it to you tube eventually. Pam Minick and Kadee Kaufman are real rural folks and did a great job producing and editing. The more the young folks are in it the better I like it. It was an honor and a fun time working with all of them.

Klaus, we bought the Eyke Sovereign horse from Cheryl Grover the former Cheryl Clarke that was in some of those videos. My favorite was "First Steps to the Furron". I wrote about some of that in the "New Horse from the Old World" article in the current issue of The Draft Horse Journal. I consider "Cherrie" Grover to be the realistic Matriarch of the Suffolk Punch in England. She's iconic. It was a blessing that she sold us this colt. He's something special. I hope to share more about it in RH soon.

Dale, I hope you got your roof on man. I need a new one on my shelter too. Funny what 30 years of elements will do to everything. Maybe you can catch it in December.

Thanks for checking it out y'all.

You can watch quite a bit of video of what we do with our horses here:
